7 Month Wedding Planning Update
Guys, I can hardly believe it. We are SEVEN months away from the wedding! I am at the point where I’m having a mini heart attack every time I look at my calendar. Anyone else? We skipped the wedding planning update last month because really not a lot has happened. We have most of the big things booked so now we’re kind of stuck in that in between phase where we’re waiting for it to be time for certain things to happen… or so I thought.
Yesterday I had a mini freak out over a million little things. This was kind of a first for me as I haven’t really felt much stress since we first got engaged (which was almost a year ago now, EEK!). There are so many little details that have to be taken care of and that you don’t even really think about until someone, aka your mom, asks you about them. Anyways, let’s get into the wedding planning items I actually did do in October
Research Bridal Shower Inspiration | I live about 6 hours away at least from the majority of my family which means I’ll be traveling for my bridal shower. This means we had to plan it around a longer weekend. My bridal shower will be in January which is kind of an unusual time for a bridal shower so I knew I was going to have to really dig into Pinterest to find some great inspiration for my shower. Obviously we’re going with a winter type of theme and I plan on doing an entire post about my inspiration for the shower soon! For now, I’ll just leave you with a sneak peak of these adorable invitations I found on Etsy!
Create Bridal Shower Guest List | This was something pretty easy and straightforward. I think it took me five minutes to complete. I got to add friends from high school and college and even a few of my friends mom’s to this list which is seriously so exciting. I know a lot of these people won’t be coming to our wedding so it will be nice to celebrate with all of them for an afternoon.
Pay Off Wedding Dress | I only owe $100 on my wedding dress as of yesterday and I am so excited that it’s almost paid for! I can’t wait for it to come in and I’m anxiously awaiting getting the call from the bridal salon.
Sell First Wedding Dress | I finally sold my wedding dress! In case you missed it, I bought a wedding dress at my first appointment and ended up hating it on me. I did a whole series over the month of October about wedding dress shopping so definitely check that out if you haven’t already to hear all about my dress shopping story. Anyways, I finally was able to sell it (for a steal of a deal to the lucky bride) from this website. If you’re looking for a place to sell your wedding dress or accessories, definitely check it out.

Research Veils and Headpieces | Y’all, I have NO idea what I’m going to do for a veil. Every time I wear one I feel like I look completely ridiculous. It’s been a struggle to say the least. My dress has some pretty intricate details that I don’t necessarily want to cover up with a long veil so we’ll see what I actually decide. The search continues in November!
Research Hair and Makeup | This month I started looking up inspo for my bridal hair and makeup because I will be doing my hair and makeup trials sometime after the first of 2018. I honestly have no idea what I want to do for my hair and makeup. I thought I wanted to wear my hair down but with my wedding dress, it makes so much more sense to wear it up. I think it’s safe to say that there will be a lot of Pinterest action in my future. Thank goodness the holiday’s are coming up!
Organize Guest List | Our guest list was out of control if we’re being honest. Justin and I’s respective guest lists were all in different places and it was causing a large amount of my anxiety this month. I decided to utilize the Guest List feature on The Knot and actually add in each person with names and addresses. It took forever but it was SO worth it. I even opened up the RSVP feature on our wedding website so that we could start keeping track of who’s coming ahead of our invitations and RSVP cards.
And that’s pretty much it for our 7 month wedding planning update! If you’re planning your own wedding I would love to hear what you got checked off your to-do list this month!
