April Favorites (2018) - Blogger Monthly Favorites!
Another month has come and gone and that means it's time to share some of my favorite things from April 2018! I love reading monthly favorites posts and videos from other content creators so I really hope you guys are liking that I've brought these posts to the blog lately. If you missed March's Monthly Favorites post you can check that out as well to see all of the things I was loving last month too!
April was kind of a blur and I'm running on 5 hours of sleep so that's why this post is a) late and b) it was kind of hard for me to come up with favorites. Ooops. I guess I should start keeping a running list of these favorites somewhere other than my head so I can knock these blogger favorites posts out when the time comes.
Along with the end of one month comes the beginning of another and you know what that means? Another round of #AskDar! If you want to submit a question to be answered in May's edition of my Ask Me Anything series then make sure you fill out this handy form right here and submit your question! The #AskDar posts are seriously some of my absolute favorites to do so please send me questions!
And with that, let's get right on into my favorites for the month of April 2018!
My April Favorites:
My Second Bullet Journal - I started my first bullet journal way back in August and I had a love/hate relationship with it if we're being honest. After a while, I didn't find it inspiring and I kind of just stopped filling it out. Then once I started picking it back up again I just kept it simple with the original bullet journal system. So when I knew I was going to need to decide whether or not to start a second bullet journal I decided that if I did I was going to focus less on planning and more on journaling. So far it has been a month and I'm OBSESSED with my bullet journal (if you couldn't tell from the fact that I keep sharing it on Instagram).
Actually Journaling - As I mentioned, I've been focusing a lot more on journaling and I've actually set aside a time in the evenings where I just sit at my dining room table and journal. First I start by filling out my bullet journal for the day followed by a devotional and then spending a few moments with my prayer journal. This self-care routine (that includes a hot cup of tea) has seriously made my month for April. It is so nice to just sit down and reflect on the day. I don't really force myself to write anything. Sometimes it can just be a sentence or two about how I felt that day but it has been such a great form of brain dumping and I can't wait to continue it.
Jumpsuits - If you follow me on Instagram or caught edition #21 of SMC then you already know that I have become absolutely obsessed with jumpsuits lately. I picked up two in the month of April, one from Walmart (seriously, yes) and one from Roolee Boutique. I love how unique each jumpsuit is but they make great additions to my wardrobe even though I thought I would never be able to pull them off.
Juice Beauty Blemish Clearing Serum - I picked this up on Saturday while shopping at the mall with my mom. I had never heard of it, didn't read a single review, and totally bought it on a whim but I am so so so glad that I did because this stuff is amazing! I had one of those pesky under-the-skin pimples that wouldn't go away for like over a week and this stuff zapped it practically right off! It's also helped tremendously with my redness and gives my skin a nice, healthy glow. I've only been using it for four days now but y'all, I already think it's worth every penny.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - I mean if you read the blog or check my Instagram regularly then I know you're not surprised at all that this is on the list. I wrote an entire blog post about my experience seeing Harry Potter and the Cursed Child earlier in the month so I won't go too into detail about it here but let's just say I'm still raving about it and feeling #blessed that I was able to see it.
Roolee Boutique - I feel like I'm really hitting my stride lately with my style game and Roolee Boutique is partially responsible for that. I got that navy blue jumpsuit I wore for my birthday along with the dress that was featured in my post about being comfortable in your own skin from them this month and I know I'll be shopping there a lot more often whenever I feel that I need to add one or two more pieces to my wardrobe. I'm currently in desperate need for tops that will be good for the Georgia heat so feel free to send me any recommendations you have!
Tin 202 -Tin 202 is a tapas restaurant in Morgantown, WV where we went for my birthday dinner. The food was delicious, um sign this girl up for anywhere that has cheese plates on the menu, and the drinks were seriously to die for. No, literally, those babies were strooooong. All of the drinks on their menu are affectionately named after quotes from the movie Dazed and Confused which I thought was hysterical. It also looks like a speakeasy.
