Celebrating my Mother's Wedding, Weekend Recap
Hello guys! I hope you enjoyed your weekend AND week. Friday the 13th is always a weird day for me and today is no exception. I completely forgot to write this post! That and a few other things have me a little off my game today but I figured this weekend recap would be a fun way to share some exciting memories with y'all! This is the second weekend recap I've done (you can check out the first one here) and I love doing them. I also like reading weekend recaps from other bloggers as well. If you want to see more frequent weekend recaps let me know! And, if you have a weekend recap from last weekend on your blog, leave a link so I can check it out!
I honestly had to pick and choose which photos to include in this post because last weekend was filled with SO many good memories. I had the honor (LOL) of being the Maid of Honor in my Mom's wedding!
Justin and I kicked off the wedding weekend by purchasing our wedding bands! How crazy is that? I feel like it was just yesterday that I started my wedding planning series with y'all. I found the perfect wedding band to accent my ring and add a little more bling to my finger and Justin chose a gold band to match his class ring from West Point. It was exciting to be able to cross that off of our to-do list at the same place where my mom and her new hubby's rings came from.
After mani/pedis with the girls it was time for the practice run. The rehearsal dinner started off a little bumpy because the restaurant messed up our reservations but the food was SO good and the view was even better. I chose to wear my So Snappy dress from Lilly Pulitzer. This is probably one of my favorite Lilly prints from recent memories and if you follow me on Instagram, you'll remember that the last time I wore this I ended up saving about 15 baby turtles.
Wedding day came quickly after the rehearsal dinner and the bridesmaids all had a hand in helping my mom with her makeup. My mom never wears makeup so it was so fun to get her all dolled up for such a special occasion. We had so much fun relaxing and getting our hair done before the ceremony and I was honored to be there to help her. It's not often you get to be the Maid of Honor in your mom's wedding.
Justin and I literally danced and drank the night away. I think it's safe to say that we got in a ton of practice for our first dance. I absolutely love weddings, it's so fun to see everyone coming together to celebrate love. Oh, and there was a cow bell which has now become a wedding reception tradition in our family.
While I was in the DMV area I got to catch up with some friends. These meetups were long overdue because I haven't seen either of these beautiful ladies in two years! I had so much fun eating at local spots with my Matron of Honor, Brittany and my good friend Caroline. These are two of the women who are responsible for keeping me sane and getting me to where I am today and I can't wait to see each of them again!
I hope you all had a fantastic weekend as well! Let me know what one of your favorite memories was!
