Customizable Wedding Invitations with Basic Invite
Remember when I said that the most stressful part of wedding planning was doing our guest list? I may have lied. No, I think the most wedding planning stress has come from doing our invitations. Not only are wedding invitations expensive but finding the absolute perfect wedding invitation suite for you and your groom can be a total pain in the butt. In fact, after feeling like we couldn't find a perfect design that hadn't already been used a thousand times, Justin and ended up designing our own and having them printed.
That's why I'm SO excited to be bringing you today's post in partnership with Basic Invite. Seriously, when they reached out to me and I started browsing their online catalog of invites I was in heaven. I chose a few different samples to give you a better taste of what they offer but, Y'all, this doesn't even begin to cover it!
Whether you're looking for a formal invitation for your wedding or an invitation for a party, Basic Invite has all of the bases covered with some absolutely amazing designs. Seriously guys, I actually thought about re-ordering our invitations because the Basic Invite designs are THAT good. As soon as I had my samples in hand, I started making a list of all of the great features Basic Invite offers. But before we get into that, let's chat about 3 of the questions you should ask yourself when shopping around for your wedding invitations!
What is my theme?
Your wedding invitation basically sets the tone for your wedding. Sounds like a big job for a piece of paper, right? With so many different invitation options out there, it can be easy to get bogged down and lose track of what's really important for your invitation. Your invitation will your guests' go-to source for information leading up to the wedding so make sure it matches the overall style, vibe, and theme of your wedding. You wouldn't send a rustic style invitation for a glam ballroom wedding, would you?
Do you need a full invitation suite?
I didn't even know an invitation suite was a thing until I got engaged. If you have no clue what I'm talking about, it basically means the invitation and RSVP card plus extras like detail and accommodation cards. You might need these additional information cards if your guests are largely unfamiliar with the location of the wedding or if your wedding is technically a destination wedding like ours.
What will postage cost?
Want a super elaborate wedding invitation? You better make sure the postage cost won't eat into your budget before buying! I know this is something Justin and I didn't do or really even think about before we upgraded the paper quality, the outer envelope, etc. when buying our wedding invitations. A full wedding suite is also going to cost more than just a simple paper invitation so also keep this in mind if you're a budget-conscious bride!
Alright NOW let me tell you some of the AMAZING things about Basic Invite!
Almost Unlimited Colors
Every Basic Invite invitation includes the option to change the colors to almost anything your heart desires. Yes, you read that right. Want your wedding invitations to perfectly coordinated to your wedding color scheme? Basic Invite has you covered with their seriously AMAZING catalog of colors. Seriously, I chose each color in this bachelorette party invitation to coordinate perfectly with the blog. How cool is that? I don't know how many wedding invitation sites you've been to, but I have yet to find one other than Basic Invite that actually lets you choose pretty much whatever color you want AND generates a preview. Having a custom color on your wedding invitation not enough for you? Basic Invite also has over 40 different color options for envelopes. (Side note: Their envelopes also all come in peel and seel, which means no yucky envelope licking for you).
Custom Samples
Probably the number one most annoying thing about buying wedding invitations is not being able to order customized samples. While most companies are great at sending sample packets that let you have a taste of their offerings, getting one to send you a custom sample, even with just your names, is actually kind of impossible. I love that Basic Invite offers this because as a bride who has a pretty long name, wondering how the invitation would look was causing me WAY more anxiety than it should have.
Address Capturing Service
Want to round up addresses in a breeze and not have to worry about handwriting each and every one of them once your wedding invitations come? Basic Invite has that covered with their easy-peasy address capturing feature! Simply share a link to Facebook or any other form of social media to request addresses that are then stored in your customer account and available at the click of a button during the design process. I didn't get a chance to actually test this feature but even just the idea of not having to track down addresses has me super excited. I will definitely be using this feature specifically for Christmas cards next year!
Again, these are just a few of the reasons I seriously love Basic Invite and I'm so happy with all of the custom samples they sent me. I'm actually crushed that I didn't know about them before we purchased our wedding invitations. Regardless of whether you're looking for a wedding invitation suite, thank you cards, or party invitations, I highly recommend Basic Invite as your go-to. You can even follow them on Instagram to get an even better idea of the amazing invitations they offer. I know they have definitely become ours and I can't wait to order more from them (like the Thank You cards for our wedding and maybe even new business cards for the blog)!
