How to Style Statement Sleeves
Have you ever loved a piece of clothing SO MUCH because finally getting your hands on it was like the sweetest of victories? This sweater is one of those items for me. Let's rewind back to a few Target trips ago when I was meandering around the A New Day Section looking for clothes I didn't really need. I happened to see this sweater on the mannequin and just knew I had to have it. It's the perfect amount of statement sleeve for my petite frame and even though I didn't really know how to wear statement sleeves, I knew it would be a great piece to start playing around with.
I searched high and low for this sweater in the store that night. I'm pretty sure I even dug through every rack just hoping they would have one more other than the one on the mannequin. But alas, they didn't. I don't know what Target's policy is on buying clothes off of mannequins so I didn't even bother to ask and went home like a dog with its tail tucked between its legs. I figured the attraction to this sweater was fleeting and that I would be able to find something else I liked just as much... but I was wrong.
I had been to Target a few more times since first spotting this sweater and every time I found myself wanting it more and more. I even went as far as to look online for it on Target's website. Alas, no other store in my area had it in stock, and even then it was a limited availability. Oh... and it couldn't be ordered online.
I like to go to Target on most Thursday nights because it's almost like a "Good girl, you've made it to Friday" type of treat for me. So I went to Target as I normally do and low and behold, they had switched the sweater on the mannequin. I'm sure that I scoffed at this point. There was going to be no way, after weeks of waiting, that I was actually going to be able to find this elusive sweater. Well, you can pretty much figure out how the rest of this story goes.
This sweater is the perfect shade of winter white and I can see myself wearing this well into the spring. I love how effortless it looks with my Gucci belt dupe and R. Riveter Otto. I'm honestly so excited to see how many different ways I can style it! It seems to be seriously popular but there are select sizes in stock. I actually also just ordered it a size down in red! I'm wearing a small in these pictures for reference.
