May Favorites (2018) - Blogger Monthly Favorites
ICYMI: May was a HUGE month for me (and Justin). That's why it's now well into the first part of June when I'm finally getting around to posting my May Favorites for 2018. I've been doing these favorite posts for a few months now and they're one of my most popular posts each month so I'm obviously going to keep sharing them until Y'all tell me to stop! Like I mentioned last time, I wanted to start a running list somewhere of my favorites for each month so that these posts weren't such a pain to write but I realized that the two things I wrote down for this month were also favorites last month...
There are exciting changes happening on the blog and my personal life. For starters, I got freaking married, and if you're new here then you can head over to my wedding updates to see how the last ten months of wedding planning added up to my dream wedding! I can't wait to share every last detail of our wedding once we have our pictures back! Justin also graduated from West Point this month which is kind of a huge deal and what has set us off on our next adventure (moving to Georgia). To say this last month was a whirlwind would be an understatement and June doesn't seem to be slowing down any.
With all that, let's get into my May Favorites for 2018!
Justin's West Point Graduation - What else can I say about this huge milestone in our lives? I vlogged and wrote two separate blog posts (here and here) dedicated to Justin's graduation from West Point so I won't keep going on about it but Y'all, the words cannot do the emotions and the memories justice! I know that years from now we will be so happy about the video, the blog posts, and all of the pictures we took. Fun fact: Justin's youngest brother Carl is the one who took most of our pictures during graduation events. He always gets the best candid shots of us!
24mm Canon Lens - I'll be honest, I purchased this camera lens on a total whim for vlogging purposes after decided I wanted our vlogs to have a more artistic vibe to them and I do not regret it one bit. This little lens has absolutely blown me away since we started using it and I can't wait to see how much better our vlogs get when we start incorporating it more!
Being Married - I mean, can we just? If the looks on our faces in the picture above doesn't say it all then I don't know what will. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect and I wouldn't change a single thing, even the crazy things that happened! I can't wait to share all of the details, our amazing vendors, and all of our favorite moments with you all in a future post. I hope you love love because you're going to be seeing a lot of pictures flooding the Instagram and the blog REAL soon. But more than our wedding day, Justin and I just freaking love being married. I don't know if it has actually hit us yet. We jokingly call each other Husband and Wife and it's the cutest. We're not perfect but we're just taking in all of the excitement of being newlyweds while we can!
Being in the Moment - I took an impromptu hiatus from both the blog and most of social media after our wedding. I didn't mean to but when I found out the news about my grandfather passing away I knew that I really wanted to just focus on being in the moment more and making memories with my new husband and our friends here in New York. We're all going our separate ways very soon and while some of us will see each other again soon, some of us don't know when we'll see each other again. That's the Army for ya! It's really taught me to be present and to actually enjoy the moments as they happen instead of being worried about capturing the perfect shot for Instagram or not having Justin redo a joke for the vlog.
Juice Beauty Blemish Clearing System - I've mentioned the Juice Beauty line a hundred times by now I'm sure but is that going to stop me? Nope! After having so much success with the blemish clearing serum I decided that I was going to try out as many Juice Beauty products as I could. Luckily for me (and my wallet), Ulta sells little kits for $40 so I jumped at the opportunity to try out some more products. I can't rave enough about the Blemish Clearing System. Nothing has worked for my acne and on my wedding day, my face was freaking flawless! It gave me that extra boost of confidence that every girl needs on their wedding day because I wasn't worrying about redness or having a breakout.
AM Coffee Collective Logo - Over the month of May, I had the great honor of working with Erica from the blog What the Clique on a logo for AM Coffee Collective. I cannot say enough about how amazing working with Erica was! She was super easy to work with and really got the vision I was going for right off the bat. I can't wait to share more about the rebrand with you guys as it is officially less than a month away! Stay tuned for a post or two all about the rebrand in the next couple of weeks!
R. Riveter Corbin - Probably my favorite thing that happened in the month of May was R. Riveter's small launch of the Corbin backpack. I wasn't sure how much I would actually love a backpack because I tend to look like a kindergartener with them on but the R. Riveter Corbin absolutely blew my mind! I was so fortunate to be able to test out the bag and plan to write a full blog post all about my time with the Corbin for Y'all a little later.
