About three or so weeks ago now, I was starting to get ready for the day when I plugged my straightener in and the worst case scenario happened: it was dead. I tried all the tricks in the book, resetting the outlet, testing different things in the outlet, testing different outlets and the dang thing just wouldn’t come on. I hardly ever straighten my hair so I took to Instagram to ask if there were any hot new hair products I should look into instead of splurging on another straightener and man was there ever.
If you someone live under a rock and haven’t heard about the Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer, then I am so glad you found this post because I swear this hair tool is a total game changer. Usually, when a product is super hyped, I rarely find it as good as the reviewers say but OH MAN does the Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer live up to the hype. To say I was skeptical when I bought the thing would be an understatement. I confirmed with the cashier at Ulta that I could, in fact, return it if I used it and didn’t like it probably three times before actually swiping my card.
Needless to say, I didn’t end up taking it back and have been using it on the regular for the entire month of February. There are a million reasons to love this product and I’m going to share a few of them with you now. Full disclaimer: I am terrible at styling my hair. I have absolutely zero idea what to do when it comes to hair and honestly it’s a miracle mine looks as good as it does.
Reasons to Love the Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer:
There are multiple heat settings - The Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer includes three heat settings, hot, low, and cool. These heat settings truly allow you to customize your hair drying experience. I like to use high when I’m in a hurry or just being lazy and low when I want to take my time. Cool is going to be a great setting for the summer and also helps to lock in the style!
Two types of bristles allow the brush to glide through hair - Remember, I know nothing about hair tools but I know enough to tell you that there are two different bristles on the one-step brush that allow it to smoothly glide through my hair. I have pretty thick hair and have been known to get a brush stuck in it from time to time, especially with the old school round brush and hair dryer method. So far, I haven’t had any issues with the Revlon One-Step getting even remotely caught in my hair during use.
Literally no learning curve - This thing is super easy to use. It’s ready to go right out of the box. Literally, plug it in and you’re ready to go! I watched like one or two YouTube videos of the product being used before I tried it for the first time, just to see how other people were using it and that was all I needed (probably wasn’t even that necessary).
No additional heat needed - This was the main selling point for me and what ultimately got me to drop the $60 on the Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer instead of getting a new hair straightener. Once my hair is dried I feel that it is styled enough, for me at least, to walk out of the door. I don’t have to use any more heat on it to get it styled a certain way for the day which is a win/win in my book! If I’m wanting more style the next day it’s super easy to just spend a few minutes adding some curls and texture in with my curling wand.
I can dry my hair in 15 minutes OR LESS - I am not freaking kidding, Y'all. I have A LOT of hair, especially when it’s long and I can dry my hair in no time. With a baby on the way, I knew this was going to be critical if I was going to maintain my sanity and I love that I can just run this through my hair in 15 minutes, way quicker than air drying, and it looks 10 times nicer too! The fact that the style lasts for a day or two is an added bonus for this soon-to-be mom as well.
No upper body workout required to dry your hair - If we’re being honest, this is the worst part about trying to give yourself an at-home blowout. Halfway through my hair, I’m usually ready for a break but with the Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer, that’s not the case. It is super lightweight and I have yet to feel a single ache from drying my hair with this.
How to use the Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer:
Step One: After washing my hair as I normally would, I towel dry it for 10 to 15 minutes, essentially the time it takes me to finish my skincare routine, brush my teeth, and apply any makeup I’m wearing that day.
Step Two: Brush or comb through hair and apply any type of product desired. I use this Not Your Mother’s All Eyes on Me 10-in-1 Hair Perfector and just run it through my hair really quick before I move on to the next step.
Step Three: Separate hair into sections and begin running Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer through on desired heat setting (I usually use high unless I’m taking my time). I rotate the brush as I pull it through my hair like you would if you were using a traditional round brush and hair dryer combo. Repeat as necessary through each section of hair until your hair is smooth and dry!
Step Four: Hair spray and go!
That’s it, that’s literally all I do to get my hair done in the mornings now! I don’t even have to do this every day which is amazing. The Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer seriously makes me feel like I’m getting a salon quality blow out at home! The next day, after sleeping on my hair I can either continue to wear it as normal or spend another 10-15 minutes using my curling wand to add some curls.
