AM Coffee Talk #14 - What Should Get 1 Million Views on YouTube, Eliza J Dress, and More!
I did a poll on my Instastories the other day to see if y'all wanted me to keep the format of these posts the same way or to make them just a chatty little post where I just type what's on my mind for the week. Since the poll was tied 50/50 when I checked the results this morning, I figured I would go ahead and try out the chatty version.... which I found to be a lot more difficult to write! If you voted for a chatty version in that poll, I'll try to come up with a way to incorporate that into future blog posts for ya. (Let me know if you have any ideas by leaving them in the comments or DM me on Instagram!).
If you caught any of my posts this week, then you already know that this past week was a rough one for me. My anxiety has been worse this week than it has been in a very long time and I struggled to cope with the "setback" after feeling so good for so long. On Thursday alone I had two anxiety attacks, the most I remember having in one day since college. Writing has been a struggle for me but this past week has made me realize that I really do need to stick to my blog workflow for a reason. Hopefully, the content that will be coming at you in the next few weeks will make up for this past week!
That being said, I really took some time to slow down this week and let all of the big changes happening in my life sink in. Sometimes you just have to press pause on life and really take a minute to sit back and absorb everything, especially when new changes seem to be hitting you around every corner. Now that I've talked your ear off about how I was feeling last week...
ONE | This Video from Monica Church
When I first got into YouTube, Monic Church was one of those vloggers that I found that I thought were SO talented. Her vlogs were so different and more artistic than the typically vlogger out there so I found myself in awe of her videography skills. I still wish my video making skills were even half of what hers are! She has a raw talent for the stuff and recently got the opportunity to do a partnership for the Olympics where she got to interview Oksana Masters, a Paralympic athlete with a seriously amazing story. I laughed, I cried. This video is so well done and it's a shame that it hasn't gotten more views. Monica also brought up the fact that to grow as a YouTuber or blogger you have to sometimes sacrifice the type of content you want to make in order to make the stuff that get 1 million views. I personally think we need to change that, y'all.
TWO | Celebrating 100th Night
100th Night is the last class event for West Point's graduating class before the graduation festivities in May and today is the day! Well actually Wednesday was the day but who's actually counting (that's a joke because we are all literally counting down the days and also freaking out). Anyways, I'll be sharing my outfit on Monday so stay tuned for that and check out Instagram for all the fun until then! Today is also actually 100 days until our wedding so it's a very crazy exciting day!
THREE | Eliza J Dresses
I have an obsession. Okay, maybe not an obsession per se but I have finally found a brand of dresses that I know I can order and love no matter what! Bless up for brands that have petite lines. I bought my first Eliza J dress for my cousins wedding back in August and I also wore it for our second round of engagement pictures the following month. Graduation at West Point requires a lot of dresses and since I recently lost weight I've been purging my closet like crazy, getting rid of clothes that don't fit or don't make me feel my absolute best. I love the way my first Eliza J dress makes me feel so I decided to check out their new line when searching for not only a 100th Night dress but also managed to find two dresses for graduation week as well!
FOUR | Re-Reading Harry Potter
When my anxiety was at it's peak Wednesday night, I grabbed my copy of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and crawled into bed. It's been a crazy long time since I have read the first book and I don't know if I've ever actually re-read the entire series. I was instantly calmed and lost myself in the wizarding world once again. It's amazing to me how something so pure can change your mood. I might have to do an entire post on my feelings for Harry Potter because it was more than just a typical book/movie "obsession" for me growing up. Let me know if that's something you'd like to see! (Or seriously any other Harry Potter related content).
FIVE | Tarte Shape Tape Foundation
I have been seeing the Tarte Shape Tape foundation blowing up everywhere and knew that I needed to get my hands on it ASAP. I love the Tarte Shape Tape concealer and it's one of my holy grail makeup products. Testing out the foundation was a no-brainer! I've only worn it once so I can't give my full review on it just yet but I plan on doing a hits and misses post and/or YouTube video real soon!

PS: Don't forget! I'm going to be doing a Wedding themed version of #AskDar this month so if you've got a wedding related question (about my wedding or just wedding planning in general) head on over to this handy-dandy form and ask your girl a question! It might get answered in the #AskDar Wedding Edition post! If you're thinking, "But what if I have a q that's not wedding related?" fear not! You can use that form to ask me anything ya want! It might get answered in another upcoming #AskDar post (I try to do them at least once a month).
